Two talented junior players from Abergavenny Hockey Club have proudly represented South Wales at the prestigious National U13 Hockey Weekend held in Nottingham.
Emmeline and Aurora, both key members of Abergavenny’s growing junior section, were selected to join the South Wales U13 Girls’ squad after a series of standout performances during trials earlier this year. Their selection is a testament to their dedication, skill development, and passion for the sport.
The National Hockey Weekend brought together the top young players from across the UK, offering a competitive yet supportive environment for budding athletes to showcase their abilities. Emmeline and Aurora impressed coaches and spectators alike with their energy, tactical awareness, and teamwork throughout the weekend’s fixtures.
Abergavenny Hockey Club’s junior coach commented, “We are all incredibly proud of Emmeline and Aurora. Their selection shows the strength of our junior programme and the commitment of our players, parents, and coaching team.”
The club continues to invest in youth development, offering weekly training sessions and competitive opportunities for players of all abilities. With role models like Emmeline and Aurora leading the way, the future of hockey in Abergavenny is looking bright.
